"Goldie" Wins the Tennessee State Fair

New to our 2023 schedule was a trip to the Tennessee State Fair. Landrey made this trip with her grandparents, as they left out on Thursday immediately after school and spent two full days showing in Tennessee with four animals they decided to take.

The trip was incredibly enjoyable and lead to some fantastic results as Landrey was Supreme Champion with her KDK Southdown Late Fall "Goldie", and Reserve Supreme with her Hobbs Show Stock Hampshire "Zoey".

The two day format gave Landrey multiple opportunities to hit the ring and show all four sheep. Two separate judges divided the breeds and swapped for the next day, before coming together on Saturday Night for the Champion Drive.

"Goldie" has been incredibly consistent for us this year but at this point, it is her crowning achievement. We are anxious to see what the future holds for her in the late shows this year and in the early shows next year as a yearling.

Based on this year, it is our plan to head back south next year. The question is do Mom and Dad get to go, or is this going to be a tradition with Nan and Pap?
