We are always trying to find new shows to add to our schedule and over the last few summers one of the more talked about shows with our peers has been, the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The show is spread out over several days with multiple opportunities to show ewes, and wethers. We had a great time, loved the hospitality of the event hosts, and will likely make this an annual trip if we can.
Landrey kicked off the weekend, winning her Showmanship division with "Goldie" our KDK Southdowns Fall ewe. A large group of kids worked very hard in showmanship and Landrey had to really fight to make her way to the top of a very deep group of awesome showman.

Our weekend was full of strong finishes within our classes, and showmanship. "Zoey" our Hobbs Show Stock Hampshire was Reserve Supreme Ewe for the Open Meat Show, "Boots" our Burns Stock Farm Southdown wether was Breed Champion for the Southdowns in the Market Show, "Nala" Hired Hand ewe lamb was a class winner both days in the March ewe lamb class for the Southdowns as well.
With Landrey having a goal to show in as many states as she can, we will have to start to branch out a bit from our favorites, but this show quickly became one of our staple shows we hope to attend. If you are looking to add a weekend to your schedule for your show string, look at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival.
